About Me
I am a Senior at a University studying Human Resources with a minor in law, policy and public relations. I am a woman's rights activist and I enjoy working with people and solving problems. Growing up I often faced difficult challenges and always felt as though I did not have a safe space to turn to. I noticed at a young age I was not the only girl feeling this way as my peers also felt alone. Now as a young woman, I want to help girls feel as though they belong while also providing resources, mentoring and workshops. I chose a summer program to keep young women into something productive and inspiring while the school year is out. I have always enjoyed working with the youth and I believe it is important that girls have good role models to help guide them through these confusing years in their lives.
who we are
Palms Now is a nonprofit organization focused on building social and academic excellence in young ladies 8-14 years of age in Metro Detroit Michigan. This unique program is designed to help build self-confidence, and mentor and challenge young girls to reach their full potential. This is an empowerment program for black and brown girls. School is a safe space for our youth, they have access to friends, food, clubs, resources, and education during the school year. Our program will be held during the summertime so that our youth can continue with their safe space while also learning more about themselves. Palms Now provides workshops, girl talks, field trips, food, resources for feminine hygiene products and most of all have someone who they can look up to and be a big sister. I chose a summer program to keep young women into something productive and inspiring while the school year is out. We will be discussing real topics and genuine issues that our young teens face. Our goal is to create a sisterhood/family dynamic.

Palms Now mission is to empower and support youth women by providing them with resources, mentorship, Therapy, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. We are dedicated to uplifting underprivileged and marginalized youth women, ensuring they have equal access to education, leadership development, and career opportunities. Our work is driven by the values of equality, empowerment, inclusivity, and social justice. We believe that every youth woman deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential, regardless of her background or circumstances. Through our programs, we strive to cultivate confident, resilient, and capable youth women who are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and support networks necessary to succeed in their personal and professional lives. Our purpose is to empower and uplift youth women, breaking down barriers and equipping them with the tools to build a brighter future.
